The Social Justice Program at El Camino College will be celebrating the grand opening of its partnering Social Justice Center on Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 1-3 pm.
The El Camino College Social Justice Center & Program stemmed from the Occupy El Camino College movement and was established through the help and sponsorship of the Student Development Office at ECC. Since its inception, the center’s Faculty and Student Coordinators–Breanna von Stein, Robert DeWitz, Israel Corte, and Kayla Arango–have worked hard to ensure that the center is run for and by students. Their aim is to expose students to social justice issues and encourage involvement with community organizations which address these and work toward affecting change.
Interested in partnering with the ECC Social Justice Center & Program? Below are some ways of getting involved:
- Contribute resource materials from your organization (flyers, booklets, brochures, business cards, etc.)
- Donate literature related to social justice issues to their library
- Request to set up a presentation on campus
- Send information/applications for students to volunteer with your organization
Materials can be mailed to:
